Chaka Khan

Chaka who is also known as Queen of Funk as she is also known, was an American record producer. In her career, which has spanned more than five decades, she has received a total of ten Grammys. The Grammy winner was also ranked as the 65th most successful dancing artist in history according to Billboard magazine. Born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a very young stage by her maternal grandmother. She started her career singing in various groups. As time went on she would become a member of a group called Rufus. at the age of twenty, she released her first album, along as the rest of the group. One year later they received their very first Grammy. In the following years, she recorded her first album as a sole artist. Through the years she has released a few other albums, including "Echoes Of An Era", "The Woman I Am" and one song dubbed 'Funk This". In addition to her contribution to music, she's also been recognized as a charitable persona. Chaka Khan Foundation, which was established to assist individuals and children with Autism and families in need. Khan is also actress on occasion. She portrayed the role of Sister Carrie, the lead role in the musical "Mama, I'd Like to Sing'.
